This study was performed to review the application of vegetation cover system as a revetments of sea dike embanked by dredged marine-sand. Through the laboratory model test and FEM analysis, the behavior characteristics of the sea dike slope were analyzed. With the consideration of the slope behavior characteristics, some vegetation cover systems were applied in the test site. Consequently, the slope embanked by the sand dredged in the sea was stable for base failure, but the surface failure in the bottom of slope was occurred due to erosion caused by runoff water which infiltrated in the slope surface. In the result of erosion model test, the main element to control the erosion for short period was not the vegetation species and cover ratio, but the surface soil stabilizer. According to the result of field test, it was observed that the applied vegetation cover systems were effective to control the erosion and stabilize the slope.
