Recently sports stadiums have been built for multi purposes not only for athletic sports but also for various events and big concerts. And the number of the stadiums which are covered by the half dome has been increasing. Therefore it is very important to solve the sound obstacle problem caused by the dome. But sound designs of most of stadiums except a few have not been planned properly and sound absorption materials have not been selected appropriately, either.
This study investigated three World cup stadiums (Seoul, Incheon, Daegu). First, sound factors according to the location in the stadium were compared by the design standard and architectural sound absorption structure was analyzed and in turn measured sound factors were considered totally for obtaining the proper reverberation time, RASTI, sound pressure level.
