Che Man Sik's 『After Get Out Of the Doll's House』 described the identity formation of modern woman in relation to Chosun's colonial reality. This thesis intends to investigate the meaning and limitation in the fictional description of Socialist Feminism.
First, 『After Get Out Of the Doll's House』 projects the other narrative with Henrik Ibsen's 『The Doll's House』 as noticing the woman character's reality in Chosun. The new woman, Nora experienced the discrepancy of colonial capitalism in the institutional spheres like economy, education, law. So this novel looked for the relationship between sex, class and nation. We can meet new 'Nora' who struggles not as an individual but as a class subject in this novel.
The writer presented the Socialist Feminism for solving the woman's problem and class problem together. However his intention failed, because the progress of which Nora obtained the class identity in the latter part of this novel was dealt simply or had the logical leap. The duality of narrative which is caused by the presentation of woman's problem in the frame of class can be said this novel's limit.
Nevertheless, this novel dealt with the double-binding of premodern and modern in gender's viewpoint, and showed that the writer's feature is not in socialist realism but in critical realism paradoxically.
