This study is aimed at analyzing the changes of development plans for Chungboo-region after 1960 years and prospecting problems to be solved on the hypothesis that the region should be developed with the position of a centrality of Korea. In this study, there have not been substantial development plans for the region but retrogressive regional plans, because most of the plans have been planned with standing not on local but for Seoul. And there has not been developed the implementation of the planning and the feedback effect for it, but the general system for the planning.
This study suggested prospections making an appearance of a new town like Seoul or a temporary administrative capital city in the region and defining a reflection of National Land Development Plans and policies on the region. Therefore, the prospective problems to be solved in the region are about planning approached with a stand-point of local development, systemizing for establishment of the spatial structure concerned with the region and the new town or city, systemizing the diviation counteracting of the belt (Daijeon-Cheongju-Cheonan) and prospective development policies, especially, for the regional tradition and culture from the ancestry and to be handed down.
