This article is drawn up to explain the DB building necessity of gramophone discs in the early 20th century and to derive the participation from people who are interested in this work, Gramophone Discs of early 20th century are precious records, which show the entire picture of Korean popular songs at that time. After “Database build-up”, this can be used in many practical ways as cultural contents.
DB build-up procedure can be divided into two processes, “Classifying collected data” is one and “Building-up the database through the digital media” is the other. “Classifying collected data” has to be processed through the real materials of gramophone discs, sound sources, lyrics and the list of gramophone discs. Next step should be providing the DB to each private. Gramophone disc DB can be used as cultural contents.
The DB can be used for educational, broadcasting, movie, mobile and performance contents. In the future, we are expecting the participation of people who are willing to cooperate on this work.
