The purpose of this paper is to analyzes on Issues and roles of the discourse on popular song of the 20 century first half year.
When the popular song concealed formation, the discourse on it went over the dimension of affirmation and negation and it was various. The objectivity and detail discourse on that is necessary.
1. The Western music acceptance for the popular song led and Japan it became accomplished. Because like this processes, the view of Western music was negative. but in compliance with intensive discussion, acceptance of The Western music were being consideration. To creatively acceptance of The Western music, many methods were groped, and ‘the folksong’ was discovered.
2. In those days, the views of Masses changed. The views that must consider Masses’s demand and the sign were emphasized more than the views that must led Masses. Also making of meaning of ‘popularity’ and the security plan of it were discussed.
3. The important issue about popular song was analysing artistic characters of it. The discourse on the artistry developed from the view of purifying it to the view of searching methods of artistry. The discussions regarding them were emphasized the beauty of form more than the contents of songs.
Until now, This paper analyzed the issue aspects on discourse on popular songs of 20 century first half year. These discussions are significant because of following reasons.
First of all, they show the general understanding and acceptance of ‘popular songs’ in those days. In addition, they help us understanding culture situation in those days.
