An, Ho-sang suggested uni-nationalism and democratic nationalistic education for achieving the political purpose. But An, Ho-sang's historical perspective is involved in them. An, Ho-sang argued that the process of history was dependent on the people's idea, and the development of Korean history has been controlled by one-people principle which began from Dangun period, and reached the summit in Shilla dynasty.
But one-people principle has gradually weakened from Shilla's unifying three dynasties, Goguryo, Bakjae and Shilla, since the respect of foreign's thought came into existence. In particular, it is almost disappeared in Chosun dynasty because of people's worshipping Sung Confucianism. Korea was colonized by Japan as the result. Japanese imperialism kept Korean people from one-people principle by individualistic education. So, it was the most important task of new Korea liberated from Japanese rule that revived one-people principle in Korean people's mind through nationalistic education. Its principle of thought was uni-nationalism, and the method of teaching it was democratic nationalistic education according to An, Ho-sang.
But An, Ho-sang's such a historical perspective made himself to exaggerate Gojosun which he argued one-people principle began from. It is the result of such a view that he drove "a campaign to recover national history" based on ancient documents. But the campaign proceeded to the extreme nationalistic movement.
