To establish a systematic usage of honeybees and bumblebees as pollinators for more crops planted in vinyl house, two hives of honeybees(Apis mellifera) and bumblebees(Bombus terrestris) were put into two green houses (600 Pyong=2,400 yd²) planted with the peppers(Capsicum annuum) in the southern province of Gyeongsang. Their pollinating activities, such as staying time of a flower and rate of pollen-carrying bees in front of hive were investigated during the blooming period. Also, the effect of bees as pollinators after harvesting the peppers supposed to be fertilized by two different pollinators were estimated by measuring the difference of weight, diameter, seed number, and skin thickness in the fruits. In result, the rate of pollinators carrying pollen in front of hive was over 50% in the morning and the staying time on flowers were much shorter in the morning than in the afternoon and much longer in the bumblebee than in the honeybee. Besides, there were the differences of staying time according to a flowering rate, i.e., middle flowering(7.27 sec) and late flowering(3.84 sec). As the effect of pollinators was different in the variety of peppers, honeybees were more competent as pollinators in hot peppers when comparing with weight, diameter, and seed number of hot pepper fruits, but bumblebees more competent in sweet peppers as in weight of the fruits with statistical analysis(Tukey multiple comparison).
