The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the exercise amount on body composition and reduce glucose, HbAlc in the type 2 diabetes melltus men. The relation of exercise training and reduce glucose was determined using an 12week exercise intervention study involving 89 untrained subjects with type 2 diabetes melltus men. Subjects were divided into five groups based on the duration of exercise(control group: n=19, 60~90min/week group: n=18, 90~120min/week group: n=17, 120~150min/week group: n=18, >150min/week group: n=17). In measurement index, body composition analysis were measured of weight, percent body fat, BMI, and WHR. Blood sample were measured of glucose and HbAlc. Results of this study were as follows; In the type 2 diabetes melltus, the amount of reduction in weight, percent body fat, BMI, WHR was greater in the 91~150min/week group compared with the 60~90min/week, and >150min/week group. And the amount of reduction in glucose and HbAlc was greater in the 120~150min/week group compared with the 60~90min/week 90~120min/week and >150min/week group. These data suggest that type 2 diabetes melltus men are most effective on the combined exercise training of above three day/week, 120~150min/week, and three month. Thus, in reduce glucose of type 2 diabetes melltus patients, clinically significant decrease in glucose can be achieved with relatively modest increase in physical activity above sedentary level.
