Popular folksong Arirang is amusement song. Therefore thematic aspects of popular folksong Arirang is different from country folksong Arirang, assuming serious emotion. So the former has more intersexual love words than the latter, on the contrary the former has less homely words than the latter. Because the tension restrains amusement, and generally home management produces the more tension than intersexual love.
But Bonjo-Arirang is diverge from the main current of popular folksong Arirang. That was a theme song of cinema Arirang which described the colonial society since the Japanese annexation of Korea. Accordingly Bonjo-Arirang also frequently sang hardships on the colonial society. By the way, Bonjo-Arirang was set the big hit, as cinema Arirang, which made in 1926, produced the grate success. This brought Bonjo-Arirang to a representative of all Arirang Song. And owing to Bonjo-Arirang, all Arirang Song was got to be the song that had a racial emotion of Korea. In view of the results so far stated Bonjo-Arirang can be estimated the song that gave a new cultural turn to popular folksong Arirang.
