Since cultural film is transmitted to Korean society. Korean pop culture recognitions are influenced by it. Especially, progressive part of film is recognized artistic film under entertainment and commercial now. Cultural film is also raised a part of industry which involved capital-based system and cultural self - conceit of each countries.
First theater in Chungbuk province is (Aengjua theater) which was built in June, 1918. Aengjua theater is two years faster than Josunkwan theater is Taegu metropolitan city which was recorded first local theater. Aengjua was managed by Japanese people. Mainly screened a shimpa drama. After independence day, Chung-ju fire station controled it, then Korean people is managed. It is passed suffering period and independence period in 40's and 50's that is not organized cultural recognition of the people expanded theater area to Chung-ju theater, Hyundai theater, Sikonggan, and Citizen hall. In 1960's, Chungbuk province theaters had been developed, and In 80's, small theaters were raised that were not organized various commercial are. Chung-ju city existed twenty two theaters; but that is saturation of theater as compared population in Chung-ju city. Early part of 90's, Chung-ju city was decreased 8 small theater by decreasing small theater phenomenon.
Seeing a continuing decrease trend of theater. Now Chungbuk exist only seventeen theaters. The reasons were that the Film Law was accomplished as a trade agreement's result of Korea and America in 1986, and demand and supply of a foreign film was preaded, besides lagging behind facilities and imperfecting subsidiary facilities of theaters and deterioration of theater equipment were expedited it.
Now a film culture is a domain of culture spreading by an imaging industry with creative ability for a basis. A Korea film must show our cultural and spiritual identity as considering economical dependent and productive technique problem. As a part of this sort of work, inspiration of Korea film culture will necessarily have to connect into reforming consciousness of local citizency with activation of local film culture. Like became clear at the conscious investigation of film culture in Chungbuk, through a local film seminar and event we plan independent conversion of consciousness of local film culture and right circumstance of it will urgently have to expand.
If we secure human resources of local film and plan activation of a independence short feature from union of the university culture of midlands and make it of import of a international short feature contacting to the capital region, that will make shine significance as an initial explosive of Korea film industry.
Also, we will have to achieve consciousness as an independent, creative and active culture accepter and conscious revolution out from a passive role reproachful backwardness of local circumstances looking forward to waiting, incoming of film culture from a big city.
