Her works embody the true picture of lives of the ages after Korean War, based on her real experience. The real experience comes into the novel for her strong wish to recall.
The author's memory, which is the shade of the sociol-historical oppression, is related with her unique method of figuring the characters. Most characters of her novel have private and confidential experience only confined in inner side. because of the outer conditions of oppressing. as the author herself write the novel because of the surroundings which disturb the immediate speaking of her experience yields the peculiar characters.
The narrative which characterize the narrative aspects of her novel. can be understood as the method of resurrecting the oppressed self through the inner experience of negating the conditions of oppression. The identity which the modernization of society proposed result in the process of exclusion of the others who cannot be identified. So the negation of standardized and unidentified self shown in her novels can be called challenge against the ideology of modernization which dominate the post korean War periods.
