Ssmall-scale care facilities provide facility care and home care at the same time and are expected to show large demand from now on, but various spatial problems are also expected because moderated facility standard and research on construction are insufficient Spatial compositions of 7 small-scale care facilities in Gwangju Metropolitan City were analyzed in this study and the results can be summarized as follows.
First, spatial compositions of 7 small-scale care facilities in Gwangju Metropolitan City were found to have combined type and management and economic alternatives for the future are required. Second, area ratio of 7 small-scale care facilities in Gwangju Metropolitan City in descending order was common living space, residential space, movement space, management space, medical space and support space. Third, in case of washroom/bath, facilities were only sparing an average of 12.92m2 and regulation on the level of facility standard deems necessary. Fourth, because of the facility standard that allows combined usage of office, volunteer room and care protection room, all facilities excluding only 2 were found to be using 2~3 spaces in a combined space. Since such combined use is one of the reasons for frequent turnover rate of facility personnel and it becomes a cause of quality deterioration of care services, it also must be regulated by the facility standard.
