For studying the Hideyoshi's aggression war, it is very important to use the historical records not only in Korea but also in Japan. By insufficient understanding, however, the records in Japan have not been used fully.
The Japanese aggression army was combined with local land lords, especially located in western Japan. Therefore, the many important records are remained in local han government. But the research about it hasn't been done fully till now. In this article I studied the records of local land lords focusing on the case of Shimazu clan.
After the war, many letters and diaries were remained in Satsuma clan. in the middle of seventeenth century Satsuma han government demanded the samurai veterans presentation of concrete war history which was written based by memorandum or diaries. By using these materials, the han government edited the victorious history of Satsuma samurai and requested Bakufu to accept their victorious history in writing official history. in this process Satsuma han government published the book titled "Seikanroku" (征韓錄: Satsuma's history of expedition to Korea).
Satsuma han government gradually modified and added the Satsuma's history of expedition to Korea for emphasizing the role of Shimazu clan in Tokukawa bakufu's official history or other historical books in japan.
The context of history of invasion to Korea which was published by Satsuma clan is that Korea was subordinated to japan in ancient age and that invasion of Toyotomi Hideyoshi was warrantable, and that the bravery battle of Shimazu clan played key role in invasion war.
In the later of nineteenth century, old records were compiled on a large scale, which was called "Kyuki Zatsuroku"(『舊記雜錄』 - Miscellaneous Historical Records).
