This article analyses the military relationship between United States and some Latin American countries, specifically Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico using a historical perspective to understand last twenty years of military cooperation. To begin, it will describe some historical aspects of US-Latin American relations and relevance of this zone to American geo-strategic interests since 19<SUP>th</SUP> century. This article will study punctual cases; Firstly, it will analyze Colombian situation and its closed-relation to United States in two different periods of time: in the fifties and in early 21<SUP>st</SUP> Century years. Secondly, this article will study current US-Mexican relation, and how little by little this Latin American country had became so near to US military requirements in “War on Drugs”. Thirdly, it will point out some aspects about broken relationship between Venezuelan government and United States, and its difficult communication in military issues. Finally, I will give you some conclusions and reflections about this topic.
