This study analyzed the behavior of global TV channel viewers in Korea with empirical data collected over the last 3 years('06~'08). The study validated the previous studies on the foreign contents consumptions behaviors; previous studies have suggested socio-cultural variables that represented viewers' inherent characteristics directly influence their viewing behaviors. The survey analysis of global TV channel viewers, conducted from 2006 to 2008, resulted in the following findings ; Viewer satisfaction was highly affected by socio-cultural variables such as visiting experience of overseas countries, personal relationships with the people, and purchasing experiences of the respective country's products, all of which showed positive effect. Influence of socio-cultural variables has been strengthened over years, and such a reinforcement is expected to be continued with more younger TV viewers are increasing their media consumption. It implies that global TV channels' marketing strategy needs to be developed based on Korean viewers experience. This result of this study could also provide empirical references for global TV channels competing against local ones in Korea, with direct references to develop their market entry strategy, business development strategy, and operational policies. The study could also provide methodological frameworks for Korean TV channels to develop overseas markets.
