〈Chaehangchik〉 written in Northern Song Dynasty of King Huizong’s reign(1100-1125) has been studied mainly by the field of History of Calligraphy. Accordingly, researches on documents have concentrated on the calligraphic style. This study was designed to explore 〈Chaehangchik〉 from the viewpoint of diplomatics.
〈Chaehangchik〉 was written in the Xuanhe era(1119-1125) when was the last era name of Huizong. Although 〈Chaehangchik〉 was written with Soogeum calligraphic style unique to Huizong, it wasn’t his own handwriting and was written by an eunuch or a court lady or a servant.
In order to examine the document form, the application of Joseo and Chikseo which were included in the Seven Orders of the Emperor in Song Dynasty, was considered, and 『Sahak-Chinam』 was consulted to investigate the form on Song’s Orders. Then, enforcement regulations of Joseo and Chikseo in Chikgangji of 『Song shi』 were analyzed. As the result, It was found that Joseo and Chikseo in Northern Song Dynasty used the same calligraphic style with ‘Jo’ of 『Sahak-Chinam』, however, there was a difference of name depending on the official rank.
In conclusion, Song’s systems and documents must be surely examined as the origin of Korean history of official documents, since they had a huge impact on Koryo Dynasty(when Samsungje was enforced). Further research needs to concretely establish how Song’s document system influenced the document system of Koryo Dynasty accepting Samsungje.
