The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of detraining after combined exercise on body composition and functional fitness test in the elderly women. Subjects were divided 3 group(IItype 7, IDtype 10, DDtype 8) from 25 elderly women. The subjects performed combined exercise for 16 weeks and detraining for 6 weeks effects on body composition (body fat, %body fat, LBM), functional fitness tests(6-minute walk, 30second dumbell curl, chair up and sit, chair sit and reach, back stretch, 244 ㎝ up & go) have been evaluated.
The results of this study were as following;
1. In the body composition, weight and body fat in all groups (II type, ID type, DD type) were significantly decreased after 16 weeks of combined exercise, and were significantly increased after 6 weeks of detraining. LBM in only ID type was significantly increased after 16 weeks of exercise and was decreased after 6 weeks of detraining.
2. Cardiovascular endurance in II type and ID type was significantly increased after 16 weeks of exercise and in only II type was significantly decreased after 6weeks of detraining.
3. Muscle strength, and flexibility in all groups had tendency of increasing and decreasing, but there were no significant differences.
4. Balance/Agility in II type was significantly increased after 16weeks of exercise. But, There were no significant differences between during exercise period and detraining period among ACE genotype groups.
