The main objective of this paper is to examine the key dominants of financial distress for casino hotels over the period 1988 and 2009 with ANN. ANN model for casino hotel data revealed that financially distressed hotels showed relatively lower net profit margin and operating income to shareholders" equity ratio and higher growth in asset than did non-distressed Hotels. ANN model for non-casino hotel data found that distressed hotels showed lower net profit margin and operating income to shareholders" equity ratio and slightly higher operating cash flow to total debt than did non-distressed hotels. A larger proportion of the debt in the capital structure ruined the financial structure of casino hotels and the inability to pay its drastically increased debt exposed hotels to be financially distressed.
