In the midst of globalization struggles for global justice need theoretical and ideological support against neo-liberal hegemony. This paper insists that republicanism can play this role. The problem is if republican citizenship for polis can be applied to global and transnational space, namely cosmopolis. Although there are some sceptical views that republican citizenship is bounded in nationality or locality, this paper evidences that Stoic cosmopolitanism includes republican duty on humanity as a whole and republican patriotism is originally and in principle cosmopolitan. Thus cosmopolitan republicanism is not an oxymoron. Recently cosmopolitan republican citizenship shows itself through global and transnational solidarity and direct action of workers and farmers against dominating global capitals and market rulers. This fact means that the sceptical view of cosmopolitan republicanism is not valid any more both theoretically and practically. Besides so called neo-Roman republican view of liberty as non-domination can be applied to international order for global justice.
