This study investigated that nine versions of “the tale of mud snail bride” of the Korean chinese which might have some different feature and meaning in comparision with Korean’s. The tale of mud snail bride divides into two type, one is “a man marries with mud snail bride”, the other is “the man got horns on his head.” Most the tale of Korean chinese belongs to the latter and have a feature and meaning as follows.
(1) Korean tale deals with love between a man and a woman, but the Korean chinese’s the moral like good deed.
(2) Korean tale emphasizes unhappiness caused by violation of taboo, but the Korean chinese’s tyranny, especially tyranny of rich person.
(3) Korean tale has unique type of resentment, but the Korean chinese’s type of bet. This shows the Korean chinese’s strong spirit of resistance.
