Some argue that there are plenty of content in elementary level history textbook. But the plenty of content is not a problem. History textbook is well-written and contains good contents for history, they’re also rather difficult to read, because it is not useful to grasp the difficult historical concepts.
To ease this problem, other researchers have also suggested to adopt the ‘history of everyday life’. But they did not hold the same view on what is the ‘history of everyday life’. Someone consider as the ‘history of everyday life’ as folklore research achievements.
In my opinion teachers should try to teach the historical ambiance of a particular period. To focus on everyday life is to know the public’s mentality and discourse structure of that historical period. I think that the purpose of emphasizing the ‘history of everyday life’ is to make sure students know about the structure of a society and its beliefs.
