In the study, the used three materials are high-strength steel sheets with a thickness of 1.0 ㎜ and 1.2 ㎜, with tensile strengths of 980 ㎫ and 1180 ㎫. Friction tests at various drawing velocities (5,50 and 100 ㎜/min) and at various holding pressures (1, 2 and 3 ㎫) in the 3 type dies (non-coated, Cr-coated and TD heat-treated dies) were carried out to investigate the friction characteristics. The friction characteristics at each die condition were expressed by revised coefficient of friction in Coulomb’s law. So, the coefficient of friction at various die surface treatment conditions in this study was needed to develop the high-strength steel sheet forming technology.
