Within the realm of neo-Gricean linguistics, this study aims to offer an extension of ways to interpret the production heuristics of quantity implicature. A problematic issue of our concern is that, in many cases, the production of quantity implicature is context-independently motivated, but in some cases, the production is context-dependent. Concerning this indeterminacy, I suggest, the comparative weight of the amount of quantity information is sensitive to the inference of "set of propositions" and therefore it can be also explained by appealing to the notion "additivity" as an alternative to the traditional "substitutivity" approach. By addressing this issue, we step more into understanding a part of the properties of contextual inference mechanism for quantity information.
