The purpose of this research is to investigate its characters and to prospect its future of education in Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. This is for deeper understandings of Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.
To achieve the purpose of this research, the 2nd. chapter deals with histories and two turning points(1954 and 1994) of education in Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The 3rd. chapter reviewed present educational programs of Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, dividing into two groups(samgha and laity). In the 4th. chapter, it focus on educational characters and prospective in Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.
Through this research, I called the year 2009 the third educational turning point after the year 1954 and 1994 in Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. And I stressed that if Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism pursues modernization and globalization of its education, the importance of a laity educational system will be recognized.
