The purpose of this study is to identify how Taekwondo Poomsae training of children with intellectual disabilities affects dopamine, cortisol and immunoglobulin A. For children with intellectual disabilities, Taekwondo Poomsae training program for 60 minutes for 16 weeks, including warm-up and clean-up exercises 3 times per week, was applied. The analysis of this study presented descriptive statistics for pre-tests and post-tests of Taekwondo Poomsae and, in order to validate the interaction and main effects of treatment program, the two-way (2<SUP>*</SUP>2) RGRM ANOVA was conducted. Through such a procedure, the following results were obtained. First, for dopamine, a significant interaction effect appeared in the treatment program applied to the two groups. Secondly, in cortisol a significant interaction effect was not observed in the two groups. Thirdly, the immunoglobulin A had a significant interaction effect in the treatment program applied to the two groups.
Taekwondo Poomsae training of children with intellectual disabilities leads to positive changes in hormones. For hormonal changes of children with disabilities as well as non-disabled children, a research of Taekwondo Poomsae is proposed to he needed. A variety of approaches to vary the strength, steps and time of Taekwondo Poomsae that can lead to psychomotor, cognitive and affective changes of children with disabilities are judged to deem necessary
