The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the super leadership of sports instructors on the self-leadership and individual learning of players and the causal relationship of the former°Øs super leadership to the latter°Øs self-leadership and learning in a bid to raise awareness of the importance of super leadership, self-leadership and individual learning and to facilitate the success of players and their teams. First, as for the influence of super leadership on self-leadership, rehearsal encouragement that was part of super leadership had an impact on constructive thinking that was part of self-leadership. Self-criticism encouragement and encouragement of constructive thinking affected rehearsal, and encouragement of constructive thinking and self-observation encouragement exerted a positive influence on individual target setting. Second, concerning the impact of super leadership on individual learning, rehearsal encouragement and self-observation encouragement that were the subfactors of super leadership exercised a positive influence on individual learning. Third, in relation to the influence of super leadership on individual learning, self-expectation, constructive thinking, rehearsal and individual target setting that were the subfactors of self-leadership had a positive impact on individual learning. Fourth, as to the causal relationship of super leadership to self-leadership and individual learning, super leadership exerted a firsthand influence on individual learning, and better self-leadership had a larger impact on individual learning, which indicated that self-leadership was one of major mediating variables for individual learning.
