The purpose of this study is to consider the story of scamp like people among Kim Jin－Goo’s historical romances and to check the prevailed reason of such stories, by investigating his awareness of inheritance.
Scamp like people among Kim Jin－Goo’s historical romances were Jeong Soo－Dong of Pyongyang, Kim Byeong－Kweon of Gunwi in Kyungpook, Woo Yong－Taek of Daegu, Hong Il－Dong of Chungju, Ma Ui－Rae and Park Gae－Cheon of Gaeseong. Especially, Kim Jin －Goo printed manuscripts in newspapers and magazines and narrated such stories in the contest of historical romance, by directly recording their stories.
Historical romances on scamp like people showed aggressive resentment against double inequality of social and regional discrimination in the Joseon Dynasty period and regionalism in consequence of the transmission of regional people.
Kim Jin－Goo realized scamp like people as ‘popular leaders’ and tried to remove regional prejudice of the general public through historical romances of scamp like people. Accordingly, the growth of popular consciousness and the conquest of regional discrimination by the general public were crucial to the prevalence of stories on scamp like people.
