Gang Seok-gi and his sons ,Jin-gu. Cheol-gu and Yong-gu are 4 grand men, who are respected for 2 generations in Daejongism. Born under Japanese rule in Buyeo, a clan village of Jinju Gang., they hold important post in Daejongism and led the national liberation movement collecting money for military act.
On the decline of national sovereignty by colonialization he built the Cheonnyeong school in his hometown to raise up the human resource and strived hard to have the nation’s own power back. An arboretum was the one example, he has done for his wishes.
Having faith in Daejongism 1909 he went to North Gando and dedicated to missonary and educational work. But he was forced to return to korea by japanese government due to his involvement with national liberation movement. After that he lead the headquarter of korean Daejongism studying religious doctrine. For the rest of his life time he stayed in his hometown and had a certain effect on the national movement in Buyeo region, for which the japanese government of Korea made him as a security risk with antijapanese thought.
His son Cheol-gu went to North Gando with his father and joined the national movement in Daehanjeonguidan (Justice group) and Daehangungeongseo(Armed group for the national liberation) of Seo- Il. In 1920 and 1922 he came back korea to raise money for military act, which was considered as most important affair after 3ㆍ1 movement connecting Daejongism with national liberation movement group in oversea. Paid attention to by the public, the japanese government in korea however became nerves with the case. His other sons Jin-gu and Yong-gu, holding major position in Daejongism, participated in national liberation movement, helping for raise the military chest of Cheol-gu’s work.
Held leading position in Daejongism, Gang Seok-gi and his 3 sons raised money for military act based on blood und religious tie after 3ㆍ1 movement, which connected Daehangungeongseo, temporary government of korea in oversea and mainland korea.
