In this article I have started from the presupposition that the paradigm of the women`s education on the hand of the colonial authority was established from the beginning of 1910s to the end of 1920s. In the first step I have analyzed what was the basic character of women`s education in the colonial education politics. In the second step I have examined how the Korean Protestantism reacted to the colonial education politics. In the last step I have explained the roles and significances of the protestant women s education in the mentioned periods. I would summarize the consequences of the research as follows: 1. In the periods between 1910s and 1920s the protestant women`s education has been developed unceasingly. It has confronted to two different obstacles. On one hand the protestant leadership has adhered to the principle of division of religion and state. On the other hand the colonial authority has surrendered and appeased the Korean Protestantism to accepting the Japanese dominion. Under such conditions the protestant women`s education has influenced women somewhat to open their own eyes to the national problems and to shape their perspective on the Korean history. It has contributed to the historical development of the Korean society by establishing the subjectivity of women through education and job activities as well as by training women`s leadership which would take part in the reformation of the society. Furthermore the Korean women, who had been trained in the frame of the protestant women`s education, have participated in the national movement in the following periods. 2. In its own manner the protestant women`s education have challenged to and changed the Confucianviewpoint of woman by giving Korean women some chances to education and by encouraging them to play their roles in the society. 3. But the protestant viewpoint of woman was not essentially different from that of the colonial women`s education or that of the protestant church leadership which would adhere to transforming the so-called national characteristics. The church and the colonial authority have had something in common and havegiven emphasis on woman`s life as "a wise mother and good wife." Such a viewpoint of woman has prevented women somewhat from accepting the equity of men and women or the socialistic perspective on the role of women both in the family and in the society. The emphasis on "the wise mother and good wife" , which was rooted in the sex role, has made it difficult to shape the social consciousness of women.
