The purpose of this study is to understand museum exhibition and education, its degree of connectivity with school curriculum, consistency of education goals and contents, etc. through a linked education case that was developed and conducted at the museum and to verify the environment that allows museum-school linked education to be expanded and enforced with the local museums. The study will examine locally linked case and application method established between a museum and schools and how it has been developed by the traditional life history museum network system which has been developed by the National Folk Museum of Korea. ‘Social Studies Learned at A Museum’, one of the programs at the National Folk Museum of Korea, was established with a specific purpose to help the students understanding of our traditional clothes by linking collections of the museum and school curriculum. It has developed into an education system in which 8, 711 students from 257 classes have participated during approximately a period of 6 years; it attracted 1, 373 participating people from a total of 12 institutions after its expansion to the network system as locally linked education. The possibility of seeking regional expansion of the museum-school linked education was also provided during this process. In order to make progress and improvements, there needs to be more flexibility in educational contents, and scheduling time of enforcement and operational methods and revitalization of exchanges among museums, schools, instructors and districts. Also, the goals of the educational and enforcement methodology need to be expanded with the purpose of pursuing mutual communication.
