The aim of this study is to compare domestic and foreign anthropometric surveys to improve the Size Korea. The Size Korea, the representative anthropometric survey in Korea, provides anthropometric data for designing more convenient products and living space. However, the anthropometric data have been utilized in limited industrial sections. It is necessary to improve future surveys for utilizing the anthropometric data in the various industries and research areas. In this study, American (sizeUSA), German (SizeGERMANY) and Japanese (HQL) anthropometric survey projects were analyzed and compared with Korean (Size Korea). The investigations were performed by web search and e-mail interviews. From this research, international trends of anthropometric surveys were analyzed. It turned out that the foreign surveys have wider measurement ranges of ages and various human properties than the Size Korea, and the data are connected to industrial companies. Based on the comparison results between the Size Korea and the foreign anthropometric surveys, the directions for improving the Size Korea were identified.
