The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trend of elite tennis in humanities and social sciences and its characteristics and derive implications for further academic development and suggest the direction for follow-up studies. To examine the major research trend of research results related to elite tennis from 2000 to 2015, this study attempted to analyze 46 dissertations and journal articles in humanities and social sciences published in Korea. The data were classified and analyzed by study object, study content, and study method, and they were arranged by year. The results of the study analyzed through this process are as follows. First, the object most frequently studied related to elite tennis since the 2000s was the study conducted in senior athletes, followed by coaches and junior athletes. In the further study, therefore, it is needed to deal with concern for female athletes or structural issues generated in the process of turning from junior to senior level. Second, the study subject found the most was the one looking at elite tennis in social and psychological aspects, followed by psychological technology and others. Such results showed that policy implications for the development of tennis society which is currently declining increasingly have not been presented. It will be necessary to examine potential for in-depth and actual application through diversification of research problems in follow-up studies. Third, in study method, the most frequently used method was difference test, followed by qualitative research and regression analysis. It is encouraging that the proportions qualitative research and survey study are similar, but it is inferred that other various attempts or novel experiment escaping from psychological factor will also be needed.
