The Purpose of this study was to develop valid scales for college PE students’ stress coping factors. This study surveyed total 345 college PE students studying at I university in Incheon metropolitan city. After implementing pilot studies, interview, and open question studies, total 48 questions with 5 point likert scale were finally surveyed, and finally 330 answers were analyzed. The exploratory factor analysis using maximum likelihood method and confirmatory factor analysis was done. The results of this study are as follows. first, 22 scales in 4 factors(Direc, Priori, Emori, Avori) were extracted with the eigenvalue of above .47 based on scree test and the indication of mean, standard deviation, kurtosis, and skewness. Second, the cronbach’s alpha of 4 factors were all over .85 indicating high degree of reliability of each factor. Third, the results of verifying measurement model indicated most measurement index supported model fit which explains statistically valid in composition of all measurement scales of each factor even though lower fits with stress coping factors. Forth, in the results of verifying two dimensional theoretical structure model, dynamic range and variant difference in most coefficient scale were low even though latent variable were added in the measurement model. This fact indicated the model structure consisting of two upper factors (Act-Do and Pas-Do) and 4 lower factors (Dire, Prori, Emori, Avori) were stably supported.
