There are so many turning points of social change in contemporary Korea. This paper is focused on the 〈March for the loved〉 as a turning point of the critical sensitivity of Korean social movements. This song has been composed in 1982 for the soul wedding of the sacrificed during the Kwangju uprising,
This song became a cultural icon of Korean social movements and an important ritual music with the democratization and institutionalization of 5.18. This song has been known to the Asian countries as a representation of international solidarity of labour movements. However, nowadays, this song is suffered from the political conservative activists with no evidences. It would be so important and interesting issue how to go beyond the socio-cultural challenges from the new rights.
