Most prior researches focused on how to select works and translation itself. Based on this, this paper has noticed what kind of works should be selected and whether they can be accepted and be popular in the target-language country, etc. In other words, this paper tried to built a kind of discourse that centered on the literary works and may discuss about both works selection and the effective acceptance in target-language country.
Literature Translation Institute of Korea, The Daesan Foundation and Korean Studies Promotion Service are the main institute for Korean literary works’ overseas translation and transmission. This paper collected the literary works which were translated overseas and the writers who was introduced to other countries by the translation support from these institutes and especially analyzed the situation in China, by which we may know that although many Korean literary works have been translated with the support from the above institutes, they are far from the Korean literature education and researches and there is no academic discourse to deal with the acceptance of the translated Korean literature. For this, comparing it with China’s “internationalization strategy of academic discourse”, this paper proposed several points for the formation of Korean literature discourse. 1. To do translation of Korean literary works and translation of the academic discourse together. 2. To translate the famous works of the elite writers in history of Korean literature systematically. 3. To systematically and specially translate the representative works of the representative writers in history of Korean literature. 4. to do translation series such as Korean female writers and their works, Korean rural writers and their works, Korean KAPF writers and their works. 5. To translate the works of writers who live in modern times but are still not taken into the history of literature and surely to translate the criticism of them. 6. to strengthen the connection of literature translation and the academic field of Korean literature in China.
