With development of Information Technology, `User Interface` became a subject for discussion in the various fields of design. With the point of view that it concerns the improvement of human life in quality, which is the 21st century`s paradigm, the ultimate aim of the study of User Interface can be regarded to realize the human-centered design. Once physical environments constructed, it takes enormous expense and time to remodel or to reconstruct them. One of the primary factors that have an effect on the life of facilities is how devotedly they reflect general public and culture. So the growing proportion of the aged means that `Universal Design`, which can take all age and physical conditions, becomes a very important subject in the field of architecture. Therefore `Universal Design` is regarded as key item to be considered in the initial stage of space plans. Although the concept of `Universal Design` itself, which aims to give satisfaction to all kinds of users and to gratify their various desires, can be unrealistic, it is an endless pursuit of finding method that fulfills various sort of user`s need as far as possible. Therefore `Universal Design` is more than a rule or a regulation and it is concern and care for human being. So, `Universal Design` is design for everyone and it is a substantial progress of environmental design. `Universal Design` is philosophy that concerns `who it concerns` and `how it concerns`. Therefore `Universal Design`, which has following attributes, such as `supportive`, `accessible`, `adaptable`, and `safety-oriented`, can be taken as not only design for the disabled but also design for improvement of life of every human being in quality, physically and psychologically. And on the base of these understandings, there should be successive study on `Universal Design` and practical application of it.
