Lee si-oe’s rebellion was an military event during 3 months that started from the north-east area of Jo-seon’s territory and finished suppressing by government forces. Rebel armies were composed with Jo-seon’s central army units to defend northward powers and Julchen’s cavalries invading the north-east area of Jo-seon’s territory, and repression forces were Jo-seon’s central and local army. They fought in the north-east area of Jo-seon’s territory.
It was an unique incident that showed military applications(working) of Joseon’s army in the early Jo-seon Dynasty. Because military system could be appeared through large-scale military campaigns, Jo-seon’s military system never appeared before Imjin war also could come out through like a Lee si-oe’s revolt. Total about 70 thousand men were mobilized, thousand of weapons were used, and so many tactics and strategies like a nerge, caracole tactics and military formations appeared through both army.
And it also shows dynamic picture of Jo-seon society concerning military affairs through deployment, employment, and applyment of military forces.
