The purpose of this paper is to define the category on cognitive verbs. Cognition is a different dimension compared to sensibility and perception, which is kinds of thought behaviors for accepting the experience and explaining and understanding it (going further from the level of perception). Cognition is the process of conceptualizing after systemized the fragmentary experience. Cognitive verbs are the group of expressing mental activity from concrete language. I instanced the semantic and syntactic criterions for limit the range of cognitive verbs. The semantic criterion is behavioral internalization and psychological process, the semantic property is the following. Typical cognitive verbs take the complimentizer ‘-ul(을) -uro(으로)’, ‘-dago(다고)’ and I took these as syntactic criterions.
