Religious ethics of Daoism based on the strong family ties were established in the name of Chengfu(承負: disaster caused by their ancestors’ misconducts and faults and that is given to descendants) in Tai-Ping-Jing; they have influenced Chinese people over the years. However, they came to lose vitality because of Confucianism and Buddhism which have fulfilled the sophisticated system of religious doctrine; the religious doctrine that focuses on family ties broadens the outer boundary, adding more abundant contents. Today ethics of the religion were newly reborn as Cheok(慼: resentment and grievances which someone holds against me), being practiced in Korea.
Ethics of Chengfu and Cheok were founded based on cultural backgrounds and sentiment of the times in ancient China and contemporary Korea respectively in order to resolve agony and calamities, which is also very suggestive in the current circumstances of East Asia. That is because family ties and grievances on which such ethics are based are common sentiment in Korea, China, and Japan.
