Yi Family moved to, settled down in Inju and grew up to be a powerful family. King Gyeongsun, Kim Bu handed over Shilla to Taejo Wanggeon and he got married to Wanggeon's daughter. Yi Heogyeom married a daughter of Kim Bu's daughter. This was considered that the family of Yi Heogyeom had dedicated to the war for the unification of the Late Three States. Yi Heogyeom made Kim Eunbu a son-in-law. King Hyunjong who belonged to Shilla group got married to Eunbu's three daughters because Eunbu was loyalty to him and Heogyeom's ancestors were from Shilla. This paved the honor to the family of Yi Heogyeom. It was the golden age as well as the restoration period during successive reigns from King Hyeonjong to King Seonjong, and Yi Family of Yinju led the political situation clearly. The son of Yi Heogyeom, Yi Han worked for Jungchuwon, who had two sons, Yi Jayeon and Yi Jasang. Yi Jayeon got important jobs under the reign of Hyeonjong, Deokjong and Jeongjong. He worked for Jungchuwon and Jungseomunhaseong in the reign of Jeongjong and Munjong, making much account of the principles with political power. Yi Jayeon was very influential as he made his three daughters King Munjong's wives. Yi Jeong, Yi Eui, Yi Ann of his sons led the political power at important positions. The daughter of Jayeon's son, Yi Ho made a wife of King Sunjong. The daughters of Jayeon's sons, Yi Seok and Yi Jeong made wives of King Seonjong. The daughter of Jasang's son, Yi Ye was the wife of King Seonjong. As the result Yi Family from Inju became the most powerful and noblest family and it maintained political power, with leading the group of the central districts and that of Shilla. As King Seonjong was ill in bed and his son, Heonjong was too young, the struggle for power was between Seonjong's little brother, Gyerimgong(Sukjong) and Yi Jaeui, the grandson of Yi Jayeon. Though Heonjong ascended the throne, it was the situation that his uncle, Gyerimgong already held real power. After Gyerimgong attacked and got rid of the power of Yi Jaeui with using military forces, he ascended the throne by driving out Heonjong. The group of Yi Jaeui failed in the struggle because Yi Jayeon and most of his sons had died and there were not so many followers.
