This study was to see how visual defects of colors and textures of finishing materials change, according to the differences of lighting, after the manufactured simulation space images to analyze the interaction between finishing materials and lighting. The research results indicate that on the whole, the halogen lighting is effective to change sensitivities in various ways. Moreover even the same finishing materials have properties of colors and textures that are differently perceived, due to the differences of lighting, and if finishing materials are different the perception of them changes, even though the same lighting is used, In conclusion, this study would be able to be used as basic data for increasing satisfaction of residents about residential space designs, by the medium of visual-perceptual changes of finishing materials by lighting, and suggesting a residential space design focusing on finishing materials and lighting.
