Single-person households are 25.3% of all Korean households, and they are expected to rise to 31.3% in 2025. The housing for single-person households is needed with this social change. Ultimately, this study is to grasp the university students" dwelling preference for a single-person household by Conjoint analysis. This paper is pilot study. The individual space attributes are a kitchen space, a needed space, and indoor environment. Then, the common space attributes are the type of corridor, a needed space, and a type of shared spaces. The questionnaire was composed of 9 profiles related to individual space, 9 profiles related to common space, and respondents" background characteristics. Pilot survey data collected from March 11 to 25, 2013. The pilot survey results were as follows. First, based on this conjoint analysis, the relative importance to the individual space were a kitchen space(52.71%), a needed space(25.87%), and indoor environment(21.42%). The relative importance to the common space were a type of shared spaces(44.72%), the type of corridor(33.96%) and a needed space(21.33%). Second, the relative importance and the value of dwelling preference differed depending on the respondents" gender, grade, size of their house, and the length of residence.
