This study was analyzed the relationship between maternal health behavior and belief and children`s obesity, for the scientific approach in preventive and administered programming of obesity. Subjects were consisted of the male students(n=206) in elementary school and their mothers(n=206). Subjects were divided to two groups, as obese and non-obese group. The investigation of the many variables related to obesity was performed by an interviewer-administered questionnaire. Regularity of meals and after-birth body weight of students showed a significant difference between obese students group and non-obese students group. And family history relation to obesity in students showed a significant difference between two groups. Body weight, obesity index, and BMI in mother``s physical characteristics showed a significant difference between obese students group and non-obese students group. Maternal perception to children``s physique and healthful body type showed a significant difference between two groups. Eating speed, regular breakfast, patience of hunger, and preference to walking in maternal life style including eating behavior showed a significant difference between two groups. And maternal interesting to health and cognitive sensitivity showed a significant difference between two groups. Obesity index and BMI of students showed a significant correlation with the maternal interesting to health and cognitive sensitivity. In these results, it could be suggested that maternal life style and health belief are critical factors for the maintenance of optimal body weight in students.
