The main contribution of this paper is to employ higher damping material and noise test in order to improve the NVH performance of thermoplastic engine component. When redesigning parts for light weight, by changing from metal to plastic, the proposed design gives NVH issues due to differences in mass, stiffness and damping. According to material damping property test and engine noise test, the developed material performance is validated and compared with conventional material.
