In the modern society, unfortunately, increasing vulnerable population threatens social safety with government cost burden. It is necessary to find alternatives to decrease social and economic loads and to stabilize housing. For securing human right of the vulnerable, redressing social imbalance, and promoting community, supportive housing should be established as appropriate shared housing. Also, for effective outcomes, housing should have appropriate characteristic to the residents. The purpose of this study is to extract residents’ need and planning elements of small community shared housing for the formerly homeless female. Research methods is user participated planning workshop, and user-friendly tools such as, plans, images, blocks, etc. are provided. 3 formerly homeless females participated in the workshop for 2 hours. As results, the participants considered 10.5py residential unit as a proper size. They required TV/movie watching, café and exercise, laundry for the living center, and cloth reforming computer working, gardening for the work center. The living center and the work center are separately arranged between 2 residential unit clusters of 8 neighbors. The potential demands of the participants have been expressed with diverse opinions, and the consensus and agreement have been established. Above all, the planning and community participation capacity of the users have been developed. This shows that there are needs to respect to the ideas of consumers as a way of customized housing planning.
