Due to recent skyrocketing oil prices, Ethanol has newly emerged as one of the most promising future energy sources. In this context, Brazil has become a leading country in the alternative energy field by the radical pragmatization of the flex fuel technology, which guarantees the simultaneous usage of ethanol and gasoline beyond ethanol-only vehicle. The objective of this article is to analyze the trend of contemporary bioethanol market of Brazil and further, provide useful, fundamental information for coming researches on bioethanol. For this purpose, we review 57 articles on Brazilian ethanol market and categorize them into the several fields of subjects, adding a brief explanation of each article’s contributions to the field. Lastly, we offer possible research subjects for future studies.
