The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of bee pollen addition diet and treadmill exercise on the energy metabolic substrate and antioxidant capacity. To achieve this purpose, 28 Sprague-Dawley male rats were selected to feed 10% bee pollen addition and let treadmill exercise for 4 weeks. There was no significant difference in the weight increase rate while compared to the bee pollen diet group. There was no significant difference in the liver and gastrocnemius muscle glycogen concentration of each group. Compared to the normal diet control group, liver SOD was significantly activation in the normal diet and exercise training group, bee pollen diet group, bee pollen and exercise training group. Compared to the bee pollen and exercise training group, normal diet control group, liver MDA was significantly reduction in the normal diet and exercise training group, bee pollen diet group. Compared to the normal diet control group, bee pollen diet group, gastrocnemius muscle SOD was significantly activation in tne normal diet and exercise training group, Bee Pollen and exercise training group and significantly reduction of gastrocnemius muscle MDA at the same time. Therefore, the findings of this study would be of help to provide basic data of exercise supplements as the bee pollen diet gives positive effect on the energy storage and antioxidant capacity.
