The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of Multicultural children`s leisure satisfaction through Taekwondo training on the acceptance of other cultures. The ultimate goal of this study is to suggest ways to reduce the cultural adaptation stress of children of multicultural families and to establish their identity as a Korean, and to provide foundational data for the logical basis of the necessity of Taekwondo training in particular, among the various programs that can improve leisure satisfaction.
The research subjects were selected from Taekwondo trainees who participated in the multicultural Taekwondo competition between 2015 and 2016, and a survey was conducted. Data of 369 participants were used in the actual study. Statistical analysis was conducted using the statistical package program SPSS 22.0 ver, and to verify the hypothesis, a multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the effect of independent variables on dependent variables. The results showed that leisure satisfaction (physical, relaxing, social) of children of multicultural families through Taekwondo training showed a statistically significant positive effect on relationship with other cultures, a sub-factor of other culture acceptance, and therefore the study hypothesis was adopted. The study hypothesis was also partially adopted, as results showed partially significant positive effects on the awareness of other cultures, empathy of other cultures, and openness to other cultures. The p-value of the statistical analysis was set at p<.05.
