Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of the communication type and language control type of the parents depending on the disability type. Methods: The questionnaires were distributed to 150 parents with disability children, who agreed to participate in the study in 3 private child development centers located in C, Gyeongsangnamdo and the data was collected. Total 120 questionnaires except insufficient data were collected to analyze. The average and standard deviation were calculated by the technical statistics analysis by means of SPSS 21.0 program in order to examine the relationship between the parental communication type and language control type, and then the one-way layout variation analysis was carried out. As a result of this study, the promotive communication score was highest regardless of the disability type in the parental communication type, and the score of status-oriented language control type was highest regardless of the disability type in the language control type. Conclusion: It will be necessary to suggest a proper communication arbitration method according with the characteristics of disability children and to expand the social support for the sake of the smooth communication and nurture attitude between parents and children.
